But after finding out 2 other nicely made 300 BLK AR gas pistons would not cycle subsonic + unsuppressed I felt it worth asking. These subs will work in any AR-15 rifle (16" barrel or shorter) with a pistol or carbine length gas system and 1:7" twist or faster barrel. Most likely if shooting subsonic Ill be suppressed so I am not overly worried about that. After multiple range trips and testing, I got a great working load. After years of working on this project, I finally got a working SUBSONIC load in 223/5.56 for cycling an AR-15!! I worked closely with a bullet manufacturer to tweak the bullets, and worked with many different powder and powder charges.
